The short version
The West Palm Beach Home Show was a great weekend for Rhino Roofs. Our booth stood out, our team talked face to face with homeowners from across Palm Beach County, and a batch of Rhino capes turned out to be the unexpected hit of the show.
All weekend at the South Florida Fairgrounds, we traded the in-home appointment for something more relaxed: an open booth, real product samples and a team ready to answer anything. Here’s how we showed up, what homeowners asked us, and what we’re bringing back to how we work.
Why Rhino showed up
We went to the Home Show to meet homeowners where they already are, with no appointment and no pressure. Roofing is one of the biggest decisions a homeowner makes, and most people want to understand their options long before they’re ready to call anyone.
A home show is the perfect place for that. People can walk up, ask a question, pick up a sample and walk away knowing more than when they arrived. That’s the kind of first impression we want to make.
Inside the Rhino booth
Our booth looked sharp, and it stood out on the show floor. Our team felt Rhino presented itself about as well as we ever have, and a few tools made every conversation easier:
- The new Rhino Roofs booklet. Our multi-page guide walks through roofing systems, materials and how our process works. Homeowners took it home to read on their own time.
- A note from our founder. Luis Quinones started Rhino Roofs because he believed homeowners deserved more than they were getting. His introduction sheet explains what that looks like in practice.
- Real product samples. Hearing “standing seam metal” or “concrete tile” is one thing. Holding it is another. The samples helped our reps show the real differences between roofing systems and materials.
The capes stole the show
We expected people to like the Rhino giveaways. We didn’t expect the capes to be one of the biggest hits of the weekend.
Kids loved them. Parents loved watching them wear them. And plenty of families found their way to our booth because of a cape. The larger Rhino bags were popular too, carrying the Rhino name all over the show floor.
It’s a small thing, but it matters to us. Roofing is serious business. Working with a roofer doesn’t have to feel that way.
The conversations that mattered most
The real value of the weekend was the conversations. Without the pressure of an in-home appointment, homeowners asked exactly what was on their minds, and our team got to simply listen and explain.
Five topics came up again and again:
- Cost and financing. “How much does a new roof cost, and is 0% financing available?” We explained that Florida replacements typically run about $4.50–$7.50 per square foot for shingles, $9–$20 for tile and $8–$20 for metal (FAS Exteriors, 2026), and that Rhino offers financing options.
- Roof life and replacement timing. “How do I know when I need a new roof?” In Florida, shingles usually last 20–30 years, tile 30–50 and metal 40–70. Recurring leaks, missing shingles and cracked tiles are the usual signs.
- Shingle vs. tile vs. metal. “Which is best for Florida?” Our samples did a lot of the talking here. There’s no single best roof, only the best fit for your budget, your HOA and how long you plan to stay.
- Process and timeline. “How long from signing to done?” We walked people through each step: planning, permitting, material delivery, installation and final inspection. [Add typical timeline.]
- Warranties and protection. “What happens if there’s a leak later?” Every Rhino roof carries manufacturer coverage on materials and our workmanship warranty on installation, spelled out in writing.
People also asked where we’re located (Fort Pierce), whether we serve their area (the Treasure Coast and all of Palm Beach County), and how we handle existing solar panels. And, of course, the most important question of the weekend: “Can I get a cape?”
Why the Home Show was a success
The Home Show was about more than collecting leads. In one weekend it delivered lead generation, brand awareness, homeowner education and team building, plus direct feedback we can put to work right away.
Here’s what we’re taking home:
- We know what’s on your mind before we arrive. Cost, roof life, materials, timing and warranties are the questions you’re already asking. Our reps will address them up front, not wait for you to bring them up.
- Clear answers build real confidence. Many people we met weren’t ready to replace their roof yet. That’s fine. They left knowing more about their options and how Rhino works, and that’s exactly the point.
- Your questions make us better. We’re using what we heard to improve our sales conversations, our printed materials, our website and future events. This post is one small example.
- Good teams show up together. Spending a weekend side by side outside the office reminded us why we do this, and who we do it with.
Honesty, integrity, accountability and professionalism. Those are the things we want people to feel when they meet Rhino, whether it’s at a booth or on their roof.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a new roof cost in West Palm Beach?
Most Florida roof replacements run about $4.50–$7.50 per square foot for shingles, $9–$20 for tile and $8–$20 for metal, installed. A free inspection and itemized estimate gives you your actual number.
How long does a roof last in Florida?
Architectural shingles last about 20–30 years, concrete tile 30–50 years and metal 40–70 years, depending on installation quality and storm exposure.
What is the best type of roof for Florida?
Metal offers the longest lifespan and strong wind resistance, tile offers long life and a classic look, and shingles have the lowest up-front cost. The best choice depends on your budget, HOA and plans for the home.
Can my insurance company drop me because of my roof’s age?
Not if your roof is under 15 years old and age is the only reason. For older roofs, an inspection showing at least five years of remaining life can keep you covered, under Florida Statute 627.7011.
Do I need a full roof replacement if part of my roof is damaged?
Not always. Since 2022, Florida law lets roofs built to the 2007 Florida Building Code or later be repaired in sections rather than fully replaced (Florida Statute 553.844).
Does Rhino Roofs offer financing?
Yes. Rhino Roofs offers financing options for roof replacements.
Does Rhino Roofs serve West Palm Beach?
Yes. Rhino Roofs, based in Fort Pierce, serves West Palm Beach and the rest of Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.
